Episode 1

Three years have passed since series one. A terrorist attack against the British Viceroy of India puts Aafrin Dalal in the frame. As the Viceroy fights for his life,  Aafrin struggles to keep his secret life as a nationalist spy from coming out. Aafrin discovers Alice is now married to Englishman Charlie Havistock, but tension between the two lovers soon returns to the boil. 

 Meanwhile, Cynthia urges Ralph to make a play for the top job of Viceroy, but Ralph’s American wife Madeleine has other ideas.

Episode 2
Aafrin’s wounded comrade Naresh is convinced someone has betrayed him. As Aafrin struggles to contain him, he discovers the truth is darker and more dangerous than he knew, putting the woman he loves at risk.

Cynthia wants to send Alice home to England, but Alice doesn’t want to go anywhere with her cruel and disturbing husband. Ralph’s ambitions come crashing down as slippery aristocrat Lord Hawthorne is tipped for India’s top job.


Episode 3
As Aafrin reels from last week’s murder, he is forced to play umpire in a ‘friendly’ game of cricket between rival British and Indian politicians. His troubles deepen when the Dalal family are drawn into his dangerous secret and his personal and political worlds collide.

Meanwhile, Ralph needs to befriend the slippery but powerful Maharjah of Amritpur (Art Malik) and his mistress Sirene(Rachel Griffiths), but Cynthia is thrown by her arrival as it turns out the troublesome Sirene is no stranger to Simla.
