London: August 25th, 2017: Toronto International Film Festival this week announced that I AM NOT A WITCH would be the closing night film of their Discovery section, completing a line-up of seven Film4 titles selected to screen at the festival, two of which will unspool first at the 74th Venice International Film Festival.
Venice International Film Festival (August 30-September 9) will hold the World Premieres of Martin McDonagh’s darkly comic drama THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI starring Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson, and Andrew Haigh’s poignant modern day western LEAN ON PETE, featuring Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny and Charlie Plummer.

Also screening at TIFF will be THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER from director Yorgos Lanthimos and Rungano Nyoni’s debut feature I AM NOT A WITCH, both of which screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May, plus THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI and LEAN ON PETE following their bows at Venice.
It was also announced this week that THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI will be the closing night gala of this year’s BFI London Film Festival (October 4-15), the second consecutive year a Film4 title has closed the festival, following Ben Wheatley’s FREE FIRE in 2016.
Director of Film4 Daniel Battsek commented: “Everyone at Film4 is incredibly proud to enter autumn festival season with no fewer than seven movies appearing at one or more of these prestigious venues. This rich and varied crop of films represents a great mix of established filmmakers as well as those making their debuts. We look forward to audiences in Venice, Telluride, Toronto and London getting their first look at these exciting projects.”
