Film4 films receive 8 noms at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards

Andrea Arnold’s American Honey continued its run of awards success today, with five nominations at the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards: Film of the Year, British/Irish Film of the Year, Supporting Actor of the Year (Shia LaBeouf), Supporting Actress of the Year (Riley Keough) and Technical Achievement (Robbie Ryan – Cinematography).

There were two awards for Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise: British/Irish Film of the Year and Technical Achievement (Mark Tildesley – Production Design). And Naomie Harris was nominated as British/Irish Actress for her work in three films – Film4-backed Our Kind of Traitor, as well as Moonlight and Collateral Beauty.

American Honey won the Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and earlier in December took home four awards at the British Independent Film Awards: top prize Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Actress and Outstanding Achievement in Craft (Robbie Ryan). The film has also been nominated for six Independent Spirit Awards, and named on best-films-of-2016 lists from publications including Vanity Fair, The Guardian, Time Out, Entertainment Weekly and Screen International.
