The finals countdown...

Category: News Release

Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong’s (Peep Show, Four Lions) award-winning university comedy-drama Fresh Meat is back on Channel 4 for a final term this year, with the prospect of the real world looming large for the student housemates.

In the fourth and final series, the end of University life is drawing closer and when JP’s (Jack Whitehall) brother pays an unexpected visit, it’s a wakeup call for all the housemates. JP is told it’s time to knuckle down if he wants to land a safe job in the family firm, but is he made of the right stuff? Vod (Zawe Ashton) is wrestling with a debt that could sink a small Euro state, while Oregon (Charlotte Ritchie), now Student Union President, plans her legacy. Kingsley (Joe Thomas) finds himself in an unconventional relationship. Howard (Greg McHugh) is headed for a first Class degree, until some unexpected news sends him spiralling. And poor 2nd year Josie (Kimberley Nixon) faces the prospect of being without her friends for next year.

When we left the residents of 28 Hartnell Avenue things weren’t going so well for the gang; JP had put the house on the market, but had a change of heart when he realised it meant too much to him; Kingsley & Josie’s on/off relationship seemed to be finally over; Oregon and Vod’s friendship was on the rocks, only to be saved when Vod sabotaged her own campaign to become president of the student union. The only housemate who seemed to be in a good place was Howard, when he went on a date with Candice.

Fresh Meat launched in 2011 and has won several awards including; a British Comedy Award for Best New Comedy Programme and RTS Awards for Best Writer (Comedy) and Best Scripted Comedy and a South Bank Sky Arts Award.
