Channel 4 today unveils a sneak peek at new competitive cookery series Too Many Cooks, heading its way next month to daytime.

We all want to impress our friends and families with amazing celebrations. But how many of us actually want to do the catering ourselves?

In this brand new competitive cooking series, three amateur foodie couples are lining up to take the heat off overwhelmed party planners.

Across the week the couples will compete to provide great food at a series of five different parties. From birthday bashes and hectic housewarmings to romantic engagement dinners and exotic bon voyage farewell parties – our highly competitive amateur cooking couples have to dig deep and cater at a scale – and to culinary standards – they’ve never attempted before.

With the pressure on, can they impress their hosts and put on a 5-star bash? Or, will their hunger for success make it a party to remember for all the wrong reasons?

Too Many Cooks begins Monday 4 April, 5:30pm on Channel 4.
