Tony Roche
Tony Roche's first original series World of Pub debuted on radio and transferred to BBC2 starring Peter Serafinowicz, Kevin Eldon and Phil Cornwall. He co-created and wrote the current affairs comedy 7 Days with Andy Marlatt for BBC3 and Broken News for BBC2 with John Morton. Tony is a key member of the team responsible for the multi-award winning comedy The Thick of It and its spin-off feature film, In The Loop which was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars. Tony's original film Holy Flying Circus produced by Hillbilly Films for BBC4 and directed by Owen Lewis transmits in autumn 2011.  

 

Tom Basden
Tom Basden is a British actor and comedy writer, and a member of the British four man sketch group Cowards. He has written and performed extensively for comedy shows on the BBC and Channel 4 and often collaborates in two-man shows with fellow Cowards member Tim Key. Together they are writing a feature film for Big Talk and Film4 which is about to go into production. Earlier this year Tom's adaptation of Kafka's The Trial, Joseph K, was performed at The Gate, and his savagely comic new play There is a War was presented as part of Double Feature - a season of new work commissioned by the National Theatre and performed in purpose-built space within the building in August 2011.

 

Penelope Skinner
In 2010, Penelope was invited to take part in the Royal Court Theatre's Young Writers' Super group and she was also selected to be one of six writers on the 2009 Future Perfect scheme at Paines Plough. Penelope's latest play, The Village Bike played a sell-out run at the Royal Court this summer where it received rave reviews and was twice extended.  The play also won the 2011 George Devine Award.

 

Richard Pinto
Richard Pinto has written for shows as diverse as The Armstrong and Miller Show, the BBC comedy drama Mutual Friends and The Kumars at No. 42. Richard is currently developing a TV sitcom for Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller, an original comedy series for the BBC and Sky Jockeys for RDF/Fox TV.

 

Rose Heiney
Rose is a writer and actress. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2006 and her first novel The Days of Judy B was published in 2008, and subsequently developed by Hat Trick for television. Rose was runner up in So You Think You're Funny in 2006 and she won Best New Comedy Writer in the 4Talent Awards in 2008. Rose is under commission and option to the BBC and Objective Productions for television comedy projects, is writing her second novel and has just completed a screenplay.

 

Jon Brown
Winner of the 2011 BAFTA Break-through Talent Award, Jon Brown has written on both series of the hit BBC3 puppet series, Mongrels, which he helped develop, Two Pints of lager and a Packet of Crisps and he script-edited the second series of Miranda for BBC1. Most recently he has written for E4's hit drama Misfits. Jon is the author of 1000 Tiny Things I Hate.

 

Keith Akushie
Keith Akushie began writing comedy at university, before performing sketches and stand-up at the Edinburgh Fringe. His first play, Hostag,e won the 2010 Harry Porter Prize for best new comedic play. He is a Broadcast Magazine Hotshot for 2011.
