Homes By The Sea set to return for second series in 2015

Category: News Release

After a hugely successful first series on More 4, ‘Homes By The Sea’ has been commissioned for a second run by Channel 4’s Deputy Head of Features, Alex Menzies.

Series one highlighted the remarkable variety of styles and architecture that feature around Britain’s coastal towns and villages.
In series two, Architectural Designer Charlie Luxton will once again be travelling the coast of the UK to uncover more truly spectacular coastal properties, including ingenious designs – old and new -  that have produced extraordinary homes by the sea;  often built against the odds, having to withstand the dramatic environmental conditions faced by coastal properties.

As ever, on his travels, Charlie will taking the time to spend time with  those who live and work on the coast and meeting those who have escaped the bustle of city living as well as those who have never known it any other way.

‘Homes By The Sea is one of the highest-performing originations in More4’s history with an audience of 712k for its launch episode and a series average of 515k (consolidated), up +42% compared with the channel’s slot average. Speaking on the re-commission, Alex Menzies said; ‘Homes By The Sea’ was one of several breakthrough Features series last year on More 4. It was a beautifully crafted show, delivered at pace on a tight budget. Charlie Luxton and the team at True North did a great job and a second voyage is well-deserved.’
