Jamie Oliver cooks up Quick and Easy Food for Channel 4

Category: News Release

Jamie Oliver has signed a new three year deal to exclusively make programmes for Channel 4. In his brand new series for the channel, Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food, each delicious dish uses just five ingredients, focusing on ease, simplicity, and clever tricks and techniques. This series is packed full of content, and sure to inspire cooks and non-cooks alike to just give it a go.

In the 8 x 30 series, which coincides with a new cookbook to be published by Penguin, Jamie will cover all the big-hitters – gorgeous meat, fish and veggie dishes, amazing salads and pastas, sweet treats and everything in between. This is delicious food like you’ve never seen it before.

Jamie Oliver said “Of course it’s a pleasure to be working with Channel 4 for another three years. At the end of the day, they’re family, and we both strive to do great work and get people thinking differently. I’m so excited about my brand new series. Creating and filming Quick & Easy Food has been a revelation for me. I can’t tell you how excited I am to share it with you. It’s beautiful, clear, fast-paced and just full of great ideas. Sometimes the simplest things are the best – I can’t believe it’s taken me 20 years to work out that just focusing on five ingredients, killer combinations and technique can give you some of the most exciting cooking ever. Watch this space! The public’s continued support and love for Friday Night Feast has inspired us to make 12 programmes this year, and me and Jimmy want to push to give the public even more.”

Sarah Lazenby added, “With the public becoming more time-challenged every year, Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food really couldn’t come at a better time. The repertoire of recipes is amazing – this is a mouth-watering series that we know will take the stress out of mealtimes.”

Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food is commissioned by Sarah Lazenby, Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment. It will be executive produced by Zoe Collins and Katy Fryer. The Series Producer is Katie Millard and Director is Ed St Giles. The series will air later this year.  Jamie has worked for Channel 4 for 15 years.

Later this year Jamie will also return with childhood pal, Jimmy Doherty, for a sixth series of Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast.
