Category: News ReleaseJimmy Carr will join the stellar line up for Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball. The TV show will air on Channel 4 within days of the event itself in March, which this year takes place in New York for the very first time at Radio City Music Hall. This is the first time the Ball has been held outside of the UK.
UK and US stars featuring in the celebration of free speech and Amnesty International's 50th anniversary include Russell Brand, Jon Stewart, Sarah Silverman, Statler and Waldorf, Micky Flanagan, Jack Whitehall, Jason Sudeikis, Peter Serafinowicz, Seth Meyers, Noel Fielding and Kristen Wiig.
Since John Cleese and friends brought together an amazing mix of comedians and rock stars for The Secret Policeman's Ball in 1976, the Amnesty International show has championed the right to free speech for people across the world. The New York gala event will also feature UK act Mumford & Sons, along with US stars Stephen Colbert and Reggie Watts, joined by a host of others to help spread Amnesty International's message to a global audience.
Justin Gorman, Head of Entertainment Channel 4 said "We're very proud to be working with Amnesty and to be able to bring the show to UK audiences. It's a brilliant line up in an iconic venue."
