PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR

Graham Bell

Graham competed for Britain throughout the 1980s and 1990s in skiing. He  represented Great Britain at five Winter Olympics in Sarajevo 1984, Calgary 1988, Albertville 1992, Lillehammer 1994 and Nagano 1998.  Graham will be overseeing the competitor’s progress in all the winter sporting disciplines features in the series.

EVENT COMMENTATOR

Barry Davies

Best known for his football commentary, Barry Davies has commentated on numerous other sports, including tennis, badminton, ice hockey, ice skating, gymnastics, hockey, cycling, beach volleyball and athletics, and primarily in the BBC's Olympics coverage, where he thrice (Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and London 2012) commentated on the opening and closing ceremonies of the Summer Games.

Barry will be commentating on all of the action at the events as well as ‘The Jump’ each night alongside Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards.

SKI JUMP

Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards

Eddie is a British Winter Sports legend who in 1988 became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic Ski Jumping.  Eddie previously held the British Ski Jumping record and has taken part in numerous winter sports including Speed Skiing.

James Lambert

James is the British record holder in ski jumping and is widely respected within the Winter Sports community.  James currently coaches ski jumping in Oslo and will be coaching our celebrities for the first week of their training on the ski jump in Austria.

SKELETON

Amy Williams

Amy won gold competing in Skeleton Event at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.  Subsequently she was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2010 birthday honours list and shortlisted as the Sports Personality of the Year. Prior to winning her gold medal, Amy was 2nd in the World Student Games in 2005 and won a Silver medal in the 2009 World Championships.

Phil Searle

Phil is the General Secretary and Team Manager of Team GB Skeleton.  Phil has been involved in British Skeleton since 2004 and oversaw Amy Williams’ victory in 2010 as well as Shelley Rudman’s Silver in Torino in 2006.

Robert Manzenreiter

Robert is a former Austrian luger who competed during the late 1980s and early 1990s at world level.  Robert is the training co-ordinator and course manager of the Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck and has advised on the Event with the track we are using in mind. Robert will also be coaching and advising for the two man bobsleigh.

SLALOM and SKI CROSS

Warren Smith

Warren Smith is one of Britain’s leading professional freeskiers and is an internationally certified Performance Coach and Ski Instructor.  Warren runs the Warren Smith Ski Academy in Verbier and counts Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew and Heston Blumenthal amongst his many celebrity clients.

SPEED SKIING

Millar Reid

Millar is the coach and Team Manager of the British Speed Ski team and has been around Speed Skiing for over 20 years. A former ski instructor, Millar was part of the Olympic Speed Squad for the 1992 Winter Olympics and is widely known across the world within the Speed Ski community. Millar’s personal speed record is 220km/h.

Ben Hedley

Ben is Britain’s top speed skier and a contender on the World Cup circuit.

SPEED SKATING

Stuart Horsepool

Stuart is the sports director for the Team GB short track set up. He spent 20 years as an athlete, and competed at the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics.  He has now been coaching the sport for more than 20 years, and has been involved with several TV projects involving the sport.

Paul Worth

Paul is a former Olympian who is now in charge of the Team GB development squad.  He has won medals at World and European championship level, and retired after competing at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.

TWO MAN BOBSLEIGH

Gary Anderson

Garry is the team director for Team GB Bobsleigh.  One of the most experienced team leaders in British sport, Gary is in charge of all British bobsleigh training ahead of Sochi 2014.

Ian Richardson

Ian is the Director of Sport for Team GB Bobsleigh. He was invited to join the British Bobsleigh Board of Directors in March 2013 and was appointed as Director of Sport in July 2013 after vote of membership.
