Kelly Webb-Lamb to join Channel 4 as Head of Factual Entertainment

This new role, reporting to Liam Humphreys whose title becomes Head of Entertainment, will oversee Factual Entertainment output across the channel; developing established brands, overseeing ambitious upcoming projects and working closely with Liam in driving forward the strategy of delivering innovative, entertaining shows which offer a fresh perspectives on contemporary issues.

The Head of Factual Entertainment role sits within the merged Factual Entertainment and Entertainment teams, run by Humphreys, which will now be known as the Entertainment department. Ben Caudell’s title becomes Head of Comedy Entertainment and he will continue to oversee the department’s non-factual entertainment slate.

Liam Humphreys said; “I have worked closely with Kelly in recent years in her role at Shine so know first-hand what a bold, creative and instinctively brilliant programme maker Kelly is so I am delighted to be bringing here unique talents into the team”.

Kelly Webb Lamb said; “I am cock-a-hoop to be given the chance to join Channel 4 as Head of Factual Entertainment. It's a department I know and love and I cannot wait to work with Liam and the team on the other side of the fence to build the best factual entertainment department imaginable”.

Kelly will have 3 direct commissioning reports; Commissioning Editors Ian Dunkley, Lucy Leveugle and Danny Carvalho. She will be taking up the role in September.

Kelly stepped down from her role of Managing Director at Shine in October 2015. During 4 years at Shine she redefined the company as a leading producer of popular factual with hits including the BAFTA and RTS award winner The Island with Bear Grylls and Hunted for Channel 4 as well as hits for other channels including BBC 1’s All Change at Longleat, Britain's Best Bakery, The Undriveables and Help! I'm Having Triplets for ITV and Sky 1’s The Force: Manchester.

Prior to her time at Shine, Kelly was Creative Director of Factual Entertainment at Princess and previously Series Editor of The Apprentice, overseeing the move to BBC1 in Series 3.
