Label1's The Job Interview (w/t) commissioned by Channel 4

Category: News Release

Channel 4 has commissioned The Job Interview (w/t), a new fixed-rig format that follows the interview process for real jobs being offered by genuine employers.

The first commission for Label1 uses multiple cameras to reveal in detail for the first time the terror and triumph of real-life interviews, highlighting every aspect from handshake to potentially life-changing job offer.

Lorraine Charker-Phillips, co-creator and Executive Producer of The Job Interview, said: “This series takes us right into the heart of one of Britain's last ‘secret spaces’ - the interview room.  It's simple and authentic:  just real candidates battling it out against each other in pursuit of real jobs, filmed in microscopic detail to capture every nuance”.

Simon Dickson, Creative Director, Label1 and co-exec of the series, added: “Lorraine and I are delighted to be off the mark with a neat and naturally dramatic format that speaks to our penchant for intelligent mainstream television that's ‘smart with heart’”.

Madonna Benjamin, Commissioning Executive, Documentaries for Channel 4 said: “The ambition of this series is to capture life-changing moments in the careers of successful candidates in a way that is moving, inspiring and entertaining.  And I can’t think of a team better equipped to deliver that than Simon and Lorraine. “

The Job Interview was commissioned by Madonna Benjamin and Alisa Pomeroy and co-created by Label1 Creative Director Simon Dickson and Executive Producer Lorraine Charker-Phillips.

Label1 is part of ITV Studios’ factual arm Shiver.
