Category: News Release

AGE: 43
OCCUPATION: Documentary Film Maker
LIVES IN: East London

Matt is an experienced documentary film maker who has made programming in dangerous environments from Afghanistan to the North Sea. He has travelled the world for work but lives in East London with his wife and young daughter.

Matt loves adventure and it is this passion for a challenge that attracted him to the series . He feels he knows how tough it will be, particularly physically coping with such a reduced calorie diet.

His work has made Matt naturally inquisitive and he hopes that he can use those skills in the group.

Q: What did you learn taking part in the series?
A: We take it for granted but we have a lot to thank those who lived many thousands of years before us. Their life was incredibly tough, far tougher than ours, and yet without their ingenuity, tenacity and inventiveness, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Q: What is the key thing you will take away from your time on the island?
A: My reconnection with the natural world is the most powerful memory of my time on the island. To have had my life determined, for just one month, by the rhythm of the sun and the moon rather than a clock, was incredibly refreshing and liberating.
