Matt Rennie appointed new MD Box TV

Channel 4 today announced it has appointed Matt Rennie to the role of Managing Director for Box Television, reporting to the Board of the joint venture with Bauer, and Channel 4’s Director of Commercial & Business Development, Sarah Rose.

In this role, Matt will be responsible for managing the entire Box TV portfolio comprised of seven music TV channels - 4Music, The Box, Kiss, Kerrang!, Magic, Heat and Smash Hits –and will directly lead the commercial development strategy across platforms, advertisers, record labels and shareholders to grow the business.  

Matt joins from Global Radio where he was Enterprise Director overseeing non-core revenue, new ventures and customer data strategy. As part of this remit, Matt was accountable for Global Music Television, Heart Bingo, record/CD releases and book publishing activities. He brings a wealth of experience from previous senior commercial and business development roles held at SeeSaw, Virgin Media, Warner Music and Channel 4.

Matt will take up his new post on Monday 7th October, replacing Gidon Katz.
