Ex-Geordie shore star Joel juggles his international DJ lifestyle with rigorous competition training and his nagging girlfriend.

 

Joel’s Story

We follow Joel at the peak of his extreme competition training as he replaces champagne and partying with 24/7 tupperware chicken and car park burpees. All of which is made more difficult by his unsupportive girlfriend.

Will he be crowned champion in April’s UKBF competition; earning him the recognition he’s always craved, paving the way for his money making aspirations or will he sacrifice success for love?

Joel struggles to balance travelling around the globe for DJ sets and a gruelling training regimen with finding time to see Sophie, and now faces a major dilemma between his love for competing and saving their fraught relationship. Despite their differences when it comes to staying fit, they have been together for six years.

Winning competitions opens the door to lots more sponsorship deals and prestigious magazine covers but Sophie believes she loses the man she loves every time Joel starts training.

On top of this, Joel has earned his qualification for IBFF, a long-time dream of his, but if he doesn’t use it within the year, he’ll lose it.

 

Weird Facts

• Joel eats eight meals per day and trains for 2-3 hours each day
• Entering competitions costs Joel over £5,000 in food and preparations
• When DJ’ing overseas, he often adds an extra check-in bag just for his food prep! 
• After his win at Pure Elite in 2015, Joel had to do a DJ set straight after, so he came off stage and went to the club…He said he’d never been so tanned in his life!
