Category: News Release

On Saturday, November 14th Channel 4’s Morning Line show will return to its former 9am slot with the legendary 20 times Champion Jockey, AP McCoy, making his debut appearance as a member of the racing team live from Cheltenham’s Open meeting.

Channel 4 will continue to provide the digital +1 service for The Morning Line from 10 – 11am.

The Morning Line - a live dedicated horseracing breakfast programme – was launched in 1989 and has provided the sport with a noteworthy 26 years and some 1,500 hours of weekly equine news, racing previews and betting updates ahead of afternoon racing.

Originally launched as a 30-minute show, The Morning Line has undergone a variety of refreshments from the introduction of a set, to monthly stable visits, big race specials and daily breakfast shows for key race meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival, QIPCO British Champions Day, Royal Ascot and Kempton Park’s Boxing Day fixture.

The racing show is one of the longest running sports magazine programmes on British television.

Steve Lyle, Channel 4’s Commissioning Editor for Sport, said: “Few sports can boast a dedicated show like this one, broadcast almost year round. The show’s longevity is testament to its ability to reinvent itself and we have exciting plans for The Morning Line going forward.”

Channel 4 Racing is sponsored by Dubai.
