Nations and Regions

Channel 4 makes a significant contribution to talent, audiences and the independent production sector in the Nations and Regions, spending more than £1.5bn on TV production in the Nations and Regions over the last decade. In 2017 this was at a high of £189m.

To support this Channel 4 has a dedicated Nations and Regions team, based in Glasgow.

A strategic arm of the commissioning division, we support production companies from the Nations and Regions by providing targeted development funding and helping Indies to build long-term relationships with Channel 4 commissioning editors.

Our Nations and Regions funding vehicle is the Alpha Fund - a dedicated development fund aimed at supporting diverse new and emerging Indies outside of London.
