Philip K. Dick (1928-1982) was a prolific American writer, publishing 44 novels and 121 short stories over his three-decade long career. Concerned with how we define reality and what it means to be human, Dick's writing spanned and blurred both realist and science fiction genres in powerful and innovative ways.

Over twelve novels and short stories have been adapted to TV and film, notably the Emmy-award winning series The Man in the High Castle, Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report, and A Scanner Darkly among others, plus ten short stories now have been adapted for TV series Electric Dreams.

The recipient of critical acclaim and numerous awards throughout his career, Dick was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2005, and in 2007 the Library of America published a selection of his novels in three volumes. His work has been translated into more than twenty-five languages around the world.
