Promotions in Factual for Nick Mirksy and David Glover

Head of Factual Ralph Lee today announces the promotion of David Glover and Nick Mirsky to the newly-created positions of Head of Specialist Factual and Head of Documentaries respectively. Both will continue to report into Lee whilst overseeing the genres of Specialist Factual which incorporates Arts, Science, History and Religion; and Documentaries which includes major series such as 24 Hours in A&E as well as strands True Stories, First Cut, Cutting Edge and other singles.

Lee says:  "Nick and David have made a huge mark on the Channel's programming this year and I'm delighted to recognise this by promoting them to lead these key genres.  The three of us will work together closely on planning the Factual output to ensure it continues to deliver to the high creative and commercial standards we have set.”

Glover has been promoted from his previous position of Senior Commissioning Editor, Factual in which he oversaw the areas of Live Events and Specials. Some of his notable commissions since joining the Channel in 2005 include award-winning series Inside Nature’s Giants and Mummifying Alan, as well as ground-breaking documentaries such as The Plane Crash, The Audience, Drugs Live, Gogglebox and Sex Box. He has also commissioned a number of programmes with Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking, and has been behind the array of specialist documentaries about 9/11 that have featured on Channel 4 over the past 8 years.
