Proposals
Category: News Release
Following feedback from the production community, we are making some changes to the way in which we receive and respond to proposals.
As of 1st April 2013, we are no longer be accepting proposals sent via the 4Producers system, and instead ask that proposals are submitted direct to the commissioning editor via email following the guidelines below.
Please take care to read these guidelines carefully, and note that we cannot guarantee a response in the allotted timeframe unless you follow these instructions.
- Write up your idea in an email; it may be useful to take a look at our guidance document beforehand as it provides tips and ideas for writing your submission.
- Select which department and commissioning editor you would like to submit your idea to by exploring the 4Producers pages of our website. DO NOT submit to more than one commissioning editor at a time, and avoid sending multiple ideas; our commissioning editors will do their best to respond to your email within 21 days, however please bear in mind that during the holiday season it may take slightly longer for a response to come through, and in case of illness or extenuating circumstances any of our commissioning editors may take extended leave with short notice in which case responses are not guaranteed within the timeframe.
- Email your idea to the commissioning editor with any accompanying materials, copying in the relevant Programme Co-Ordinator, ensuring that the word "PROPOSAL" is in the subject line (If you would like to send additional materials, please consider the inboxes of the recipients and send as a link or file-share document if over 150KB)
By submitting your proposal to us, you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions and Channel 4's Privacy Policy.
If you have any queries about the process, please contact producersupport@channel4.co.uk
