Channel 4's Marketing Controller, Rufus Radcliffe, is to step down from his role at the broadcaster in order to join ITV as Group Marketing and Research Director.

In his role as Marketing Controller, Rufus oversaw all programme and brand marketing activity across C4, E4, More4, Film 4 and 4OD.  In ten years at the broadcaster he has led numerous high profile programme campaigns, with recent highlights including ‘This is England ‘86', ‘The Big Fish Fight', ‘The Inbetweeners' and ‘Misfits'.

Part of the E4 launch team which won Media Week's Launch of the Year, Radcliffe also led the launches of More4, C4+1 and catch-up service 4oD.  Working with the Channel 4 sales and 4Creative teams he also developed a new range of trade marketing activities, including a new ‘Upfronts' presentation to agencies and advertisers.  Prior to joining Channel 4, Radcliffe worked in account management for advertising agencies, J. Walter Thompson and McCann Erickson.

Rufus Radcliffe said:  ‘After ten unforgettable years at Channel 4 the chance to market ITV, one of Britain's biggest and best loved brands, was too good to turn down.'

Dan Brooke, Channel 4's Director of Marketing and Communications, said: ‘Rufus has had ten magnificent years at Channel 4 and we are sorry to see him go. Among many sensational achievements, perhaps the greatest is that he leaves behind the best On and Off-air Marketing operation in the business. We wish him well for the future.'
