SOCIAL NETWORKING: Hassan is on Facebook, but he could live quite happily without it. He tends to call people as he can’t be bothered with texts.

Hassan is a very confident guy who doesn’t hold back when he’s talking. He’s known as the ‘geek’ by his brothers as he studies hard. Hassan doesn’t know anyone going to The University of Leicester but this doesn’t worry him.  He is really looking forward to living on his own. He doesn’t want a girlfriend but wouldn’t mind a bit of romance.

He has spent the summer working at a newsagent and car wash to save up for a family trip to Turkey. He has only ever spent a week away from home for Duke of Edinburgh but it doesn’t worry him at all.

He’s in self-catered halls and can’t cook but says its fine he will just get takeaways. Although he spends a lot of money on clothes as he cares about his appearance, he is good with money.

Hassan’s mum has looked after him and this is his first attempt at doing his own washing – with regular daily phone calls home will Hassan be able to cope without his Mum guiding him through? Will he manage to get out of bed in the mornings for lectures without a nagging parent making him?
