SOCIAL NETWORKING: Luke uses Facebook and Twitter – mainly to talk to the people he lives in the same block as.
Luke is a total lad. He’s staying ‘a single pringle ready to mingle’ for uni, and mostly goes out ‘on the lash’ with his mates.
His family is Irish and he is well connected to his roots. They go regularly to a house in rural western Ireland where he chills out and relaxes. He’s friends with all the village people – there are only about 50 people there – and enjoys this down time, the village isn’t even on maps.
He works in an Irish bar and wants to keep his job so thinks he might go back on weekends regularly. He also plays Gaelic football and hurling 2 or 3 times a week and wants to set up a Gaelic football team at Leicester. Luke’s just started boxing and starts training in September. He’s really dedicated to training – he has to eat really well and train really hard for matches. He likes the discipline and says he will keep to it even at uni.
Luke dislikes lazy people, and finds it irritating that they expect things to happen without putting any effort in – he thinks you have to get up and get your own stuff in life. How will he cope living with a group of lazy students?
His two older brothers are 24 and 26 and have both been to uni so Luke has a good idea of what to expect – they’ve given him all the gossip….
