TFI Friday have confirmed that U2 will join Chris Evans, and guests Steve Coogan, Saoirse Ronan, Take That and Slaves, for a live performance on the season premiere of the seminal cult entertainment show due to air this Friday at 8pm on Channel 4.

Bono, Adam Clayton, The Edge and Larry Mullen Jr. – currently on the road in Europe with the sold out iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour – will visit Chris at TFI’s new home in Central London just ahead of a six night run at London’s O2 Arena. The band, a firm favourite of TFI Friday, having made numerous appearances on the show in the past, will perform two songs as part of the live studio broadcast.

Chris Evans said, "It wouldn't be the first episode of TFI without one of the biggest bands in the world, if not the biggest. We're over the moon that we've got U2 on the show, they're coming in specially, flying straight from a show in Antwerp and straight back to Cologne, making the time just for us, and we certainly plan to make the most of it.‎"

The new ten-part run of TFI Friday starts this Friday on Channel 4 at 8pm and the first episode will also feature Steve Coogan, Saoirse Ronan, Take That and Slaves.

Broadcasting from a new Central London home and with brand new features, raucous stunts and brilliant guests, TFI Friday is set to once again be a key part of the Friday schedule for the next ten weeks.

TFI Friday was commissioned by Channel 4’s Commissioning Editor for Live & Events, Tom Beck. The Executive Producers are Clare Barton, Suzi Aplin and Will MacDonald. The producer is Pete Pitwood.
