Channel 4 has commissioned betty to make a fifth run of hit series The Undateables. Series four is currently on air with ratings for programme one consolidating at 3.2 million, and with 31K tweets, the channel’s most tweeted about that week. The current run also features the first Undateables wedding with Brent and Challis tying the knot, the first baby and an engagement.

The critically acclaimed show will return in 2016 with five episodes following new extraordinary singletons looking for love. The series will also include catch ups to see how previous daters’ love lives have progressed.

The Undateables was commissioned by Channel 4’s Head of Factual Entertainment, Liam Humphreys and Factual Entertainment commissioning editor Lucy Leveugle. The fifth series will be executive produced by Kathleen Larkin for betty.

Lucy Leveugle said: “The Undateables is a Channel 4 series through and through, and its universal theme of love continues to see viewers engage with disability. We are all extremely proud of its legacy with proposals and weddings.”

Kathleen Larkin added: “We are delighted to be making the fifth series of The Undateables and we are extremely proud of the show. It provides an honest portrayal of love and dating through the experiences of those living with a disability and has challenged misconceptions”
