Walter Presents surpasses 1 million VoD views on All 4

Titles from Walter Presents, Channel 4’s brand new on-demand service showcasing the world’s best foreign-language drama, have drawn more than 1 million views on Channel 4’s digital service All 4.

Having launched on January 3rd, the 11 titles from Walter Presents have already attracted 1.1 million views across Channel 4’s owned All 4 platforms (excluding Sky and Virgin) in just two weeks. Hit German spy drama Deutschland 83, Argentinian psychological thriller Pure Evil and award winning French comedy Kabul Kitchen are just some of the shows that are proving popular with All 4 users.

Deutschland 83 has proved the most popular title whilst Danish thriller Heartless and French political drama Spin are second and third respectively.

Last week it was revealed that the launch episode of Deutschland 83 has become the highest rated foreign-language drama in UK TV history. After launching with 1.49 million viewers on Channel 4, the first episode consolidated with 2.5 million viewers, overtaking the launch of The Returned (9th June 2013) on Channel 4 which previously held the record with 2.2 million.

Handpicked by Walter Presents curator, Walter Iuzzolino, the dramas are exclusively available free with no subscription required. The service was launched through a partnership between Global Series Network (GSN) and will offer a constantly evolving and expanding slate of foreign-language dramas, making it the go-to destination for both discerning fans of world drama and those curious to discover more about the genre.

It will eventually host more than 600 hours of drama that will be available for box-set viewing on All 4, including the option to download episodes and watch on the go.
