Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain

 

Jesse and Sam met at Manchester University on a creative writing course. They are the writers and co-creators of nine series of Channel 4’s BAFTA-winning Peep Show starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb. They have also created and executive produced four series of Channel 4’s Comedy and RTS Award-winning Fresh Meat. They co-wrote the film Four Lions with Chris Morris, which premiered in Sundance and won the Empire Best Comedy Award and a BAFTA.

Jesse has written for The Thick Of It, HBO’s Veep and was nominated for an Academy Award for his work on the script of In The Loop. Sam is a writer and script editor on BBC2’s Rev.

 

Tom Basden

Tom Basden is an award-winning comedian and writer. For TV, he has written for some of Britain’s best recent comedies, including Peep Show, Fresh Meat, The Wrong Mans and is currently writing the 3rd series of multi-award winning sitcom Plebs. Tom is also member of sketch group Cowards, who wrote and performed their own series on BBC4.

 

Jon Brown

Jon is a BAFTA winning scriptwriter for film and TV.  Credits include Peep Show, Misfits, Fresh Meat, Babylon and Veep. Current projects include an original TV project in development with Hillbilly/Keshet for Channel 4 Drama and a comedy with Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong.

 

Tony Roche

Tony is a key member of the team responsible for the multi-award winning comedy The Thick of It and its spin-off feature film, In The Loop. He has been co-executive producer and writer on the HBO comedy series, Veep winning an Emmy in 2015 for Outstanding Comedy Series.  His original screenplay Holy Flying Circus, was broadcast on BBC4 in autumn 2012 and recounted (in Pythonesque fashion) the controversy surrounding Life of Brian and was nominated for a Best Single Drama Bafta Award.  

 

Penelope Skinner

Penelope is an award winning writer whose work has been performed at the Royal Court, National Theatre and Bush Theatre. She is the recipient of the George Devine Award, the Charles Wintour Most Promising Playwright Award (Evening Standard Awards) and has been nominated for an Olivier.

Penelope's newest play Linda premiered winter 2015 at the Royal Court and she also has a play opening in 2016 at New York’s Manhattan Theatre Club. 

Penelope has written for all four series of Channel 4’s Fresh Meat.
