Jamie and Jimmy get ready for battle as Food Fight Club returns

Category: News Release

Following the success of its first series, Jamie & Jimmy’s Food Fight Club returns for a fresh round of amazing food adventures.

From their HQ – a café at the end of Southend pier – Jamie and Jimmy will be celebrating, exploring and recreating more of Britain's diverse food heritage and cooking up incredible dishes to try at home.

Each week the Essex boys will be inviting a celebrity guest to earn their foodie stripes by working in the café’s kitchen, cooking and serving the dish of the day.

And the boys will be firing up the Capri again, hitting the road on a mission to bring some of Britain’s forgotten foods back to life. Plus there’s a weekly 'blow-out' recipe with real wow factor from Jamie and Jimmy gets his hands dirty on a DIY food builds.

Made by Fresh One Productions, the new 4x60’ series of Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club was ordered by Rich Evans, Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor at Channel 4 and will be executive produced by Dermot Caulfield and Zoe Collins. The series will air in early 2014.

Of the commission Jamie Oliver said:

“I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be getting back on the road with my old mate Jimmy for another round of Food Fight Club. Once again we’ll be relying on our trusty Ford Capri to take us around the country, but this time we’re in search of incredible, but forgotten British dishes and ingredients as we try to get them back on the nation’s plates.

We’ll also be returning to our café on Southend pier, where we’ll be inviting both locals and celebrity guests to come and join in the fun – I’ll be cooking up some big, bold, show-stopping recipes for you to try at home and Jimmy will be doing what he does best, tearing it up with his usual foodie-science experiments.

Food Fight Club is all about exploring, eating and celebrating great British food, and encouraging as many people as possible to get involved and enjoy it too – if that’s not worth fighting for, I don't know what is.”

Jimmy Doherty added: “It's amazing to be back filming the second series. Last year we showed that our food is some of the best in the world and this year we're on a massive road trip to fight for the lost and extinct food treasures of Britain and bring them back with a bang."

Rich Evans said “We’re thrilled the boys are getting together again for another series of Food Fight Club, combining road trip adventures with money-can’t-buy food events in their pop-up café on Southend pier.”
