FilmFear, created and curated by Film4, returns with a selection of strange, scary and provocative films that highlight the many unexpected ways horror can take shape on-screen.

The big-screen event takes place only at Home cinema in Manchester, starting on Tuesday 22nd October with an exclusive preview of director Ben Wheatley’s Channel 4 horror-comedy series Generation Z.

The festival then continues from Wednesday 30th October, kicking off with the darkly fabulous Film4 production Sister Midnight. The FilmFear Halloween night highlight is a double-bill celebrating horror icon Christopher Lee, while other nights showcase new voices finding fresh and imaginative ways to use horror and fantasy to explore psychological states. And, as always, there are cult favourites for those who prefer to stay in their discomfort zone.
