The Channel 4 Streaming app on iPhone and iPad supports AD. Where available, Audio Description is represented by an 'AD' icon next to an episode and within the player. Select the icon in the player to enable Audio Description during a programme.
Across the Channel4 Streaming platforms which support Audio Description, around 40% of our programme hours have this service available, and we’re adding new titles all the time.
The ‘Audio Described’ category can be found within the Search navigation option to navigate directly to content with this access service.
Programmes can also be filtered by an ‘Audio Described’ option within each programme category.

On iOS and Android, content can be watched with Subtitles where a speech bubble icon is displayed.

We have a curated signed collection, available on all streaming platforms, containing some of our most popular shows with British Sign Language interpretation. This is available from the homepage on most platforms or by going to channel4.com/signed, or searching the word 'signed' within the platform.
Signed programmes or episodes feature a BSL icon as part of their main image.
We are adding new titles to this collection all the time, as well as looking to improve the navigation to these programmes.

We test the app with the DAC (Digital Accessibility Centre) who provide feedback from users with dyslexia and other cognitive impairments. Tapping on headers will expand a page that can be scrolled vertically in order to view all content. On Android this has been implemented on the app homepage. We are aware that some areas of the apps still rely on path based gestures and are looking into this.
